Jai Christo Social Trust Celebrates International Women’s Day 2026 with "Give to Gain" Theme

PALAKKAD – Embracing the spirit of empowerment and community, the Jai Christo Social Trust hosted a vibrant celebration for International Women’s Day 2026 today, March 7th, at Jaya Matha College. Under the inspiring theme "Give to Gain," the event brought together community leaders, educators, and students to honor the invaluable contributions of women to society.
The celebration emphasized that true empowerment stems from the "sharing of knowledge, support, and opportunities." By fostering an environment of mutual aid, the Trust aims to strengthen the social fabric of Palakkad and beyond.
Highlights of the Day
The program kicked off with a morning registration at 9:00 AM, followed by a series of insightful addresses and cultural performances:
Keynote Insights: Dr. Jimcy C S, Assistant Professor and ED Club Coordinator at Mercy College Palakkad, delivered the keynote address, focusing on the evolving role of women in professional and social spheres.
Leadership Presence: The event was presided over by Rev. Sr. Rogi CMC (Vicar Provincial, Jai Christo Province). Sr. Gisala George CMC welcomed the gathering, while Sr. Sheeba Rose CMC presented a detailed report on the Trust's ongoing social initiatives.
Community Recognition: A special Honouring Ceremony was held to recognize individuals who have made significant impacts within the community.
Youth Engagement: Students from the Department of Social Work at Mercy College energized the audience with a powerful street play and dance performance, followed by an interactive activity session.

The day concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Sheeba Shaju, President of the Kairos Federation, followed by a "Tea Together" session, allowing participants to network and share ideas for future community projects.
